If they are 11" then yes.
If 10" maybe but they are more expensive for parts then 11s are.

How does it run? Nothing wrong with the 232, except that it is unexciting. Very durable and even economical in the right chassis. The transmission is a Torqueflight 727 with the AMC pattern and 2WD output. Waaaay too long for your CJ-5, but would work well to power somebody's low-budget project.

I don't have any current love for the 232,it has sat in a static outside display(painted OD in a military setting outside "The Flying Tigers Restaurant" ,it's been closed for years, all the real jeeps found homes awhile ago and this poor orphan found his way here),motor is set up but all the goodys(?)are still there,I'll put an add in the classified section when I get it stripped down,it has the full float rear end to put lockouts on for towing too.

That is not original- and is an odd thing to put into that DJ since the flanged 44 is plenty strong as it is. If it is a FF, that's probably alone worth what you paid for the vehicle.

    I think it's a ff,it has the flat end,not a tapered axle......a veritable gold mine

The DJ came with a flanged axle centered 44 rear axle from 1967-1982. It is different from a centered CJ Dana 44 of the 72-75 vintage in that the pinion is actually centered. A CJ actually has the pinion off center by 2" so that the axle shafts {25"} are the same length on both sides. A DJ has 2 1/2" spring pads on the top of the tube, and a CJ has 1 3/4" spring pads underneath the tubes. This is not to be confused with the late 1970-71 CJ 5 offset flanged axle that the pumpkin is offset to the passenger side by about 12".
