No U-Haul - Now Need Towbar

Next time tell them you are towing a CRX or VW Bettle.

Problem may be solved. I purchased a tow bar on eBay that looks somewhat like Vangard's Smittybilt.

Now all I have to do is get some mounting brackets and safety chains. I like the idea of the clamp-on brackets shown in Vangard's pics. The Tomkin brackets are appealing for knee protection but they're more permanent. Nothing, I suppose, is ideal.

 

Got me tempted now. A problem with the Tomken bracket might be the fixed distance between my towbar mounting arms, which is 33 1/4". At least, that's how I see it at the moment. I'll have to check more into it.
