So I headed down to the local wrecker and picked up a few candidate blower motors that fit the heater box, but now I have questions about wiring. The stock heater motor has resistors to control speed built in. all of the motors I found do not have built in resistors. Current is controlled externally. I did not find a resistor bank for the fans I picked up, but I did not look too hard either. I thought of using a newer 3 speed fan switch from a cj7. I ordered one from a local parts shop and indeed it has posts for different speeds, but I could not tell if it contained resistors or if there is an external bank of resistors. they and I did not have a multmeter so I could not check. They will not give a refund on electrical items like this and I am too cheap to just take it home and have it not work. So, does anyone know if I need more than just the switch?

My wife's 83 CJ-7 uses a resistor bank. It is located in the heater ductwork kinda on the pass side.
My 67 heater motor has 2 wires coming out of the motor, one for each speed.
    Hope this helps some.

im not sure if this is gonna help you or not, but my two speed heater has 3 wires coming out of it. one for ground and one for each speed. i just put in a on-off-on toggle switch and hooked the wires for each speed to the connector on the switch. so know when i switch my toggle up its on high off is in the middle and low is down. i have had no problems at all so far.
