Is there any documentation of the variances of m416 trailers by different manufacturers or by different dates and modifications? The trailer i just picked up had tow large brackets on the frame sides, before the spring mount. My old m416 did not have them and i have googled and have not seen any other frames with the brackets.

It is not added on by a previous owner, it looks to have been on the frame from the beginning. I am thinking it might be a mount for Jerry cans, i have seen a few pictures of trailers with fuel cans right in this general location.

Another difference i noticed is the rims on the trailer have larger round holes compared to other wheels where they are much smaller.

I thought the m416 shared the same rims as the MUTT, but i never noticed differnce wheel patterns.
Do I just have a later trailer? The data plate is pretty much sanded flat and i have no information about manufacture.

That would make sense. My first one did not have lifting points. Thanks

Interesting. i just found a wiki page and this is a m416B1 model. The wheels are the same as a Mighty Might. And the tires are smaller, i noticed that last night. Only 2000 of them were made. so it is kind of rare.
