And a made-it-at-home: Pics of the newly finished home made soft top - Jeep Wrangler Forum
Now I do like the above pictures. That dark green Wrangler does look good.
OP - great thread!!
It is an LJ w/ a CJ front clip and a custom made safari style hardtop.
Here is a thread w/ more info from the builder/owner:
"Safari Cab" custom hardtop project - JeepForum.com
The guy has produced some amazing creations over the years. The above thread is certainly worth the read!
Are you referring to this thread:
Picture request, CJ5s with ACME hardtop - JeepForum.com
Despite the title saying Acme, it contains a lot of various CJ-5 hardtop info. In fact it is the largest collection I've seen on the web.
If not, can you post a link the thread you're referring to?
Any pics of these ones aside from the advertisements? Would be real curious to see them, as I've never heard of them before.
Agreed, this LJ was tastefully executed IMO. The steel wheels and custom top gives it a Scrambler look.
Regarding the Question posed in post #7 and touched on in post #8 ---The following link will show the Scrambler w/Overlander top-- CJ8 Alaskan Postal Jeep - Street2Mud - Welcome!
Each of the below links are from the owner/builder.
The Jeep in discussion is indeed a 2006 LJ w / a CJ front clip and a custom made hardtop:

I believe we are talking about two different, but similiar looking Jeeps and tops. First photo is the CJ8/Scrambler of post #5, 7 & 8 ---second and third photos the LJ
flat fender version of Fresno top
Great call. Despite both having a NY front license plate centered on the bumper, there are multiple differences.
Here is a CJ-5 Bonaza hardtop:
