'Glass body thickness

Can anyone fill me in on the thickness of fiberglass bodies in general? Is it a consistent thickness throughout, or are some portions (for example, the floor) generally thicker?

Just curious.

 

Thickness varies depending on area sides vs floor and will also vary by manufacturer. Mine is 4wd Hardware tub manufactured in '93. Double wall sides, contourcore floor and steel reinforced firewall. Let me know what measurements you need. FWIW, I saved on shipping by buying it from a four wheel drive shop in Coldwater MI. Probably still have the reciept if you need the name of the place. Price was the same as the catalog.

 

No need for reciepts, just working on a 3D model for a little project.

Sides, floor and firewall would be fine.

Firewall appears to be 1/8". Floor at tranny cover is 1/4" Much thicker in other parts, exceeds an inch with reinforcement. Tub walls are 2" at lip (top of tub) reducing to 1 3/4" double wall below lip.

 

FWIW, the floor of one of my fibo tubs is reinforced with 1/2" plywood glued in on the underside (the other tub is not).

 

2" walls? Yikes!
