    Hi,

My new distributer from Walk's (Part number 923068) is install in my F134 engine. The engine actually runs OK (specially when warm) but when I check the timing with the timing light - it is off by may be 10 degree. I try turning the distributor clockwise - the slot is not long enough. Turning it the other way makes the engine run really rough.

When I look at the distributor, the fake oiling cup is located at about 2 o'clock. The mechanic that install the distributor needed to file the tab in order for it to fit in. I read on this forum that this is known issue documented by Walk's. Was it installed wrong?

    Thanks

    Hold on..

I had a second look with a mirror and a good flashlight - it looks like the hold down bolt has a smaller slot -- I'll try un-bolting the hold down bolt first and turn the distributor to give me enough range on the adjustment nut. Hopefully that'll work.

I just got my distributor back from re-build and they put in an oiler which mine didn't have. I removed it because it was in the way of the hold down bolt and plugged the hole with a golf tee.
