Electronic distributor upgrade

My old distributor was bad, so i was at a cross roads. Replace and repair all of the broken, worn parts, points, condensors, etc...or buy an electronic unit. I went with the latter.
Both units looked the same externally, right down to the faux oil maintenance port

As far as installation...it was almost as easy as dropping the new unit in. I was having some problems seating it, so after 15 minutes of wtf'ing, i took a file and made a few passes on the end.

After that it was just a matter of timing. She runs like a top now!

yeah, I noticed the difference right away. it never had that much pep to begin with, but the 134 fhead was putting up a rooster tail in the mud when I was in 2wd. first time ever!

top speed still a little over 52mph, but it purrs like a kitten! im happy.

 

yessir. cant wait to get it on the trail. just got snow dumped on us *again*. and its been raining all day. I was sooooo looking forward to a road trip this weekend.

 

Sure wish they would come out with one of these that had a vacuum advance on it.

 

shouldn't be too hard to find a voltage reducer for the ignition only.
