Buick 225 Vs Jeep 225

    so its time to order the engine rebuild kit for my dauntless oddfire 225. the only kit that I can find is for a 64 to 71 buick 225. this is the kit that I need, correct?

    btw, Im looking at the kit from Northern Auto PN# EK0825

    Dauntless- used in Jeep CJ's and Commando's '66-71, 225 Odd Fire, '64-'71 Buick, all the same. Good luck!

    Buick 225 V6 1964-1971 Master Engine Kit from Northern Auto Parts
    thats the one I used, but my engine was a 1966 Buick Skylark engine. There seems to be some small differences between the Dauntless and the earlier Buick, but I think its only the addition of air injection ports in the head that mine doesn't have.

    One more thing, The rods and wrist pins are interference fit... You need a rod heater to install them correctly. You CANNOT just press them in. You will destroy your piston. This is a job you should outsource to a competent shop.
