Anyone have experience regarding the best oil filter for the 304?
I run wix filters in everything I own. And have used them at work on heavy equipment for twenty years never had a filter failure.
Mmm... the one that fits and does not leak?
I bought a bunch of Delcos and Autolites on close-out at RockAuto that fit my Jeeps. They seem fine. Supposedly anything is better than the regular Fram.
As tested WIX and NAPA Gold are your best quality Oil filters commonly found on the market
I vote for wix also, I think the NAPA gold filters are wix brand. Have been using them on my diesel trucks and bob cat for years without a problem.
correct the part numbers are one digit shorter is the main difference 51258 wix number 1258 napa number fits both the 304 and the 258
Always Wix..... Made in Germany.
Yes that is the NAPA number I use for the 304.
The best brand oil filter is Notafram.
another vote for Wix
..........and waiting for this thread to go into the old "flat tappet cam", "lack of zink/zddp in the oil" discussion.
Wix or Napa gold, which are also wix but some times cheaper
Wix XP or Napa platinum which have a wire mesh backed filter media, both made by wix again.
FleetFilter - Wix Filters/NapaGold, Fram, Baldwin, and Luberfiner: Wix/Gold Napa vs WIX Filter
Wix is made in the USA.. no manufacturing in Germany..
Wix Branded is a bit different than Napa Gold or any other Private lable store brand.. number of pleats is normally the only difference other than packaging...
I stand severely corrected on that statement, Thanks ! . I have no Idea where that popped into my thick skull ? Wix has always been an American Company & made in the USA
