Ok I am installing my 2 1/2 in lift with 1/2 in lift shackles. The front drive shaft even at a slight droop hits the 304 V8 exhaust crossover pipe from the pass side. Anybody else have this problem???

With AMC 304 V8 and dual exhaust, I installed a 3" Black Diamond lift with 1/2" daystar shackles and did not have that problem. i only ran into an exhaust problem when i put the 35" tires on...too close to tailpipe exits and thus cut a couple of inches off tailpipe. All better. Can you upload a picture of your problem?

Problem is factory crossover from the pass side is hitting. The CJ6 is still pretty much bone stock, so I guess I'll have to be careful.

I'll post pics tomorrow if I can't figure this out

I have a 79 CJ5 with 2 1/2" lift, 1/2" shackles and 1" body lift w/factory V8 and factory exhaust. I also lowered the transfer case 1". It's close, but it clears. I have to imagine a CJ5 and 6 are similar in the front clip area.

What do the engine mounts look like? Do they look homemade? Maybe not the right size?

    Coby,

We did mine so that the 'y' is behind the transfer case. It looked weird going in, but I never had any problems with it.

Dana, I have not had a chance to take pics yet

sac13 this CJ6 is so stock original I felt funny putting a lift on it. Trust me everything on it is factory.

Jon the Y is about 2" forward of the trans mount, if it was back next to the trans mount and skid plate there would be no issues.

I think I am going to hook it up for Billy's this weekend and see what happens. It may have gotten high centered at one time and bent up that way because the trans mount and skid plate are banged up and bent.

Thanks for the responses I'll report back after the weekend.
