Open plenum style intake, great for high rpm power. NOT what you want for a CJ.
I like having the return line, I believe it helps to prevent vapor lock.

Personally I would try to find used parts if you need hard parts like gears or shafts. I'd trust 50 year old OE gears before aftermarket parts...

Interesting I'm sure dad's was built after that, it has the round top windshield and large front turn signals.
When did the dash VIN stickers start? My dad's 69 doesn't have one and i know for a fact it's never been painted.
