The old Jeep would not start this morning. Figured the fuel pump finally gave out. Came home this evening with a new pump. Put the thing on and it still did not start.

It was getting spark but it still was not getting fuel.

It turns out that both old and new fuel pumps work better when there is gas in the tank...

Might need to trade a fuel pump in on a sending unit

that's alright, I once changed a starter because I forgot about the battery cutoff switch under my dash.

I cranked mine over and realized it was in gear the other day. That will make you pay attention quick. Especially when your standing outside the jeep.

Always have a can of starting fluid. If it fires with the starting fluid and then shuts down, it's definitely a fuel supply problem! Sure saves on diagnostic time and trouble!

Better keep both pumps. I went to pick up one for my 304 today. Napa, AZ, and Advanced had none at their local stores. Advanced said they couldnt even get one. Napa and AZ said i would have to wait until one was sent from their hub overnight, and the hubs have limited stock. Went to oreillys and one will be here tonight.
