I am at the point in my build that I need to get some bearings and seals for the differentials and axles. I have a 72 CJ5. Just wondering what folks recommend for where the best place to buy rebuild kits (I will likely replace axle bearings in the rear, wheel bearings in the front and differential side bearings and pinion bearings). I believe I have a dana 30 and dana 44 in the front and rear respectively. Are there good online sources or are FLAPS a good place, any brands to get or to watch out for?

Randy's Ring and Pinion for the diff rebuild kits. You want master overhaul kits, especially for the 30. The master overhaul kits I've used from them include all the shims and the inner axle seals for the front. Many "overhaul" kits from other sources leave out shims, seals, etc. Flaps should be a good source for axle bearings for the rear 44. Standard Set 10 bearing kit iirc. Make sure you get the inner and outer axle seals too. For the front wheel bearings Flaps also. Make sure you get quality bearings like Timken. Stay away from the "house brands" unless they are re-boxed quality bearings. many are made "overseas" and are junk.

I was able to get all of my seals and bearings for my front diff on my 66 CJ5 from Auto Zone, they had to order them but it only took two days.

X2, had a cheap bearing from the PO seize itself to my front spindle. I use a FLAPS and they only sell Timken!
