I finally welded in my rear perches on my 74 cj5, I'm using 2.5 wide 76 4" lift springs. I think the pinion angle is alot. My concern is won"t i be starving the pinion brg for oil with a large angle? Has anyone done this b4 and how do you get more oil in diff to lube the pinion ? Any help would b great.

Ya, my pinion has a pretty steep angle to it. I had the same concerns. I jacked the rear of the jeep as high as I could and then added oil. So far so good, no pinion bearing noise.

How many degrees of pinion up angle do you have? Got a pic or a degree measurement? Right now we are guessing.
A common trick is to use a high pinion cover from the front of a Ford truck Dana 44. That will allow the oil level to be higher than stock. Most aftermarket heavy duty covers are set up with the fill plug for high pinion differentials....

Make sure your axle seals are in good shape though or you will have gear oil all over your brakes.

Just checked. Angle at 20 degree. I ordered a aftermarket HD cover. I'm going to give that a try. Tks for the info.

Better check your u-joint angles front and rear of the rear driveshaft as well or you may end up with driveline/u-joint vibration issues.... 20 degrees is quite a bit. I'd check for u-joint binding as well..

I'm using a rock crusher cover. It has one of the highest fill plugs I could find.

That’s a lot of angle. Are you using a double cardan driveshaft?
