For lack of a better word. Advance Adapters (I think) makes a windshield "clamp" that replaces the flip down latches. Baby John's Nixon has them, IIRC. I searched the AA site, and couldn't find them. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Any ideas about part #?

I also have the same AA clamps on mine. Not sure of the part# though. Had to machine a lot off of them to get the right w/s frame angle for my soft top to fit right. Not sure the problem was with the clamps though.

Hey John, those are pretty neat. How do they work? Do they unscrew or something?

They basicall work like the newer ones. No clamp just a set screw.

There's two pieces. A small one attaches to the dash which is threaded to receive the set screw.

Then the big one attaches to the w/s frame. There's a slot. The set screw passes through the slot into the threaded base. The slot allows the w/s to tilt forward or backwards as needed then tighten the set screw down.

I think the newer ones have thumb knobs so you don't need a wrench. I didn't have any of those so I used some stainless bolts I had laying around.

I wondered if anyone would notice that. Didn't even do it on purpose. Still learning how to resize pics. I think I tried to rotate it so I could grab one corner and shrink it down and realized I'd mirror imaged the thing. Thought it was pretty neat. The I wondered how would anyone drive a right handed vehicle.

You know one of the bad things about reading this board is you find things you NEED, that you never thought about needing before..
