Anyone out there using a 4 bbl intake on a 225 that's not an Offenhauser? Kenne Bell seem to be made from Un-obtainiuim. Just wondering if I have other options. Quick search at Summit shows only Offenhauser and I'm not having much luck with their stuff.

I'm running a Holley intake I bought used off eBay, but I don't think they're made anymore.

You are probably correct, I just did a search on Summit Racing and found nothing from Holley.

Which Offy are you using? There are single plane Offys as well as the dual, and the dual comes in 2 flavors. PM me if you want to try a different one as I have several on the shelf. I would also like to know if there is an issue with the Dual Plane as that is one I was going to run on one of the other rigs.

I'm using a 360* Dual Port Offenhauser. PN 6035DP I know nothing about intake manifolds so I couldn't tell you the difference between a Dual Port and a Dual Plane. I wonder if the company that does their casting is offshore..........like maybe China!

Edelbrock was making one. Not sure if the still are but would be worth investigating

The only Edelbrock manifolds that Summit had specified they wouldn't fit '78 and earlier V6 engines.

does it HAVE to be new , I know a guy in calif that stocks old alum manifold and actually rare speed stuff I have bought every manifold from him. 2 torkers, 1 performer and 1 dual quad mani with carbs for the 442 and a old Offy for the jeep .I have his # if you need it .

imagine all the people buying a manifold from Offy that just bolt it on and never look back........ I am shocked the quality is so bad , can't wait to see how they "fix" it .

Thanks for the info. I'll see what the guy at Offenhauser says. Maybe I'll get that phone number from ya.

I'm interested in how this turns out as well as this is the first I've heard with quality issues in the Offy. I'm looking or a 4 barrel intake for my dauntless so if anyone has a source I'd be interested in knowing the contacts' phone numbers.

Thanks for the heads-up Chris. I'll definitely keep it in mind. Actually I didn't know Holley made a manifold for the Buick. I spoke with the rep from Offenhauser this morning and they are committed to making this right. He told me that they switched to a different foundry about 3-4 years ago, but had no problem that they were aware of. He said that the new foundry they are using has been in business for 80 some years. On a positive note, I'm getting really fast at pulling off this intake.

I used to run the Holley Street Dominator on my '77 odd fire 231. The holley part number is 300-22. There is one on ebay right now for 175 plus shipping.

I've been hearing for years that Offenhauser is ready to lock the doors, it hasn't happened yet, and if it does happen, it will be a sad day. ~40 Yrs ago, you probably had 8-10 vendors to buy a manifold from, and 3-5 vendors to get a carb from, today? You've got Holley and Edelbrock largely for most motors, be it manfold or carbretors, and that's a bloody sad statement. EFI is great, don't get me wrong, when EFI is right it's damned good, but it's pretty damned hard to fsck up a carb...

That's the intake I'm running-I don't consider it ideal for a Jeep because it's a split plenum intake, not a true dual plane. However it seems to work really well-I'm running it with a TA470 & the performance improvement over the stock setup was quite noticable.

Well, I bought the Holley off e-bay, now as soon as it cools off a bit down here I'll put it on with the 470 carb I got a month ago.

    According to what I've read, the Holley 300-22 won't fit a pre-'77 Buick V6.

IDK what the part # is on mine-it's a Holley street Dominator, with provisions for EGR & PCV in the intake, which I blocked off.
