Will this Radiator work?

I need to install a smaller radiator due to interference issues with my freshly installed steering swap. I found this radiator http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/51960/10002/-1 and was wondering if you guys thought it would be sufficient to cool my 2.3L ford engine. I will be running an electric fan.

 

I don't know about that radiator, but I'm using this one.

It fits above the frame rails and is offset to the right to clear my steering box. This radiator is big enough for a V8 and keeps my 2.3L cool even if it's only half full. The only issue is it sits awfully close to the engine. Don't know if your engine sits in the same place as mine, but this may be an option for you.

 

Man, i dont think that one is going to fit for my application. My battery box doesnt allow the radiator to be any further right and the one you linked is fairly wider than the stock radiator. Im really looking for something thats shorter than the stock one. The one I linked is the perfect size, but being only 1" thick, im kinda worried it wont cool enough

 

Forgot about the battery box. Mine is gone and the battery sits in the rear fenderwell.

 

I took some time building that battery box!! I found this radiator http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AFC-80104N/?rtype=10 Should be better than the one i originally posted due to it being 3" thick instead of 1" thick. My engine is damn near pushing on the firewall so im hoping it will fit without modifying stuff too much. If that doesnt work, ill send it back and give that michael guy a call! Well, here is my experience with radiators and the 2.3 swap. When I first got my Jeep it had a carbed 2.3 swapped into it and a narrow thin radiator out of a plymouth 2.2 turismo along with the plymouth's 2 blade electric fan. It worked ok if you drove it at speed, but tended to overheat on the trail and in stop and go traffic. I assumed I needed a bigger fan, but when the radiator began to leak I replaced it with a much wider but still thin radiator and kept the same fan. It worked fine like that. When I swapped to the Scout II Steering box, that radiator wouldn't fit, so I swapped in the thick but not quite as wide that I have now. It's a bit overkill, I'm sure it would cool a V8 with no problem, but like I said earlier. It keeps my 2.3 cool even if it's only half full.

I'd say either of those radiators would work, but I'd opt for the biggest and thickest one I could squeeze in there.

 

Thanks, i really appreciate the input. I ordered that 22x13x3 aluminum one i posted, hoping that because it is fairly thick and also aluminum, it will do the job. Ive got a couple of questions about that turbo set up if you dont mind:

How does it compare to the stock NA setup?
Did you do a conversion or find a whole motor with a turbo already attached?
If so, was it a tough swap to do?

I find the idea of a turbo'd willys pretty BA!!

 

It's a beast compared to the NA setup. It can be downright scary on a dirt road when that turbo kicks in, especially with lockers. It really shines on the highway, I can pass at will and there are no hills I can't do at least the speed limit going up.

I used a complete Mustang SVO engine that was already turbocharged and fuel injected. The wiring is probably the most difficult part, but the SVO wiring harness was pretty well self contained. I used to have pictures of the swap on Jeeptech, but they have disappeared. I'll have to get some pics up on here.
