Where have y'all found a front brake line tee that also has the mounting bracket to screw to the frame? I've got one flair nut that is being very stubborn so I may have to find another tee if I can't get this one freed up. Thanks

I think I saw those in either Quadretech or 4WD.com... try some heat.. I recently replaced the hoses on my front brakes and both fittings needed heat to break them loose

Ive never had one so tight a good pair of vice grips couldnt get off. I used a crescent wrench to hold the block and locked a set of vice grips on mine. Good luck.

i would put a little heat to the fitting with a torch and then while hot spray it with some pb blaster. might do this a couple of times and then put a line wrench on it or if it wont fit if it has ben rounded over a good pair of vice grips.

I don't have access to a torch. I have actually found an identical tee to my existing on eBay from a military surplus.

Don't take this the wrong way, but in my experience, these nuts will come out if you can get a proper grip on the nut and enough leverage. Don't give up. I would only give up after I had actually broken the nut off level with the block. Have you removed the block from the axle? Hammer a (Craftsman) 6-point box end wrench over the nut, apply some Kroil or PB Blaster, put a pipe over the wrench, and turn it. You can even do this in the car if the block is securely held down.

If you can't get a wrench on, try one of these:

No experience with them, but recommended on Garage Journal.

The tee I was referring to is not on the axle. It's on the frame in front of the driver side front shock mount. It's seized up pretty good so I went with a NOS one I found on eBay. My only question is, is it possible the holes to connect the lines aren't tapped perfectly straight into the brass tee? The hole for the line going to the MC appears to angle up slightly. It appeared the old one may have angled slightly downward. If I cross threaded it, it would have still gone in straight, correct?

I just had this issue. I broke the brake line off at the combination valve and tried to get a socket on the fitting. Promptly rouded it off. Spent an hour with Vice Grips, etc. Went to these: http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10...d=stripped+nut&prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=L2

    Came right out.

With a 36 year old Jeep, I'm sure I'll have the opportunity again. They really made removing the brake line fittings very easy.

As for a torch, HD carries MAP gas in those small bottles and I just attach a torch head to it.. Very handy..
