A friend of mine had some of these laying around and he gave me a set.

The picture isn't a very good one but in person I love the way they turned out.
The lenses are blue (see the theme? ) and they are nice a bright red when lit up.

most, if not all, states require a red reflector on each side at the rear.

It's not the states, it's Federal DOT law for any vehicle built after Jan 1, 1968.

In my experience you really need to tick off a cop to get them to nit pick on stuff like that. I shaved the side reflectors off of my 68 ford F100 15 yeas ago and never had any problems and i have done the same on my cj5.

But in states that require annual safety inspections it's not a matter of ticking off a cop, it's a matter of slipping it by the inspector. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it can be difficult.

I never thought of having it inspected. Here in kansas we dont have inspections. Dang i feel lucky. Most all of my stuff would not pass inspection for one reason or another.

do your blinkers work? I have LED on mine, front parking/turn and rear brake/turn. The turn signals require a special flasher, since they are LED.

    Yeah the blinkers work fine.

THe back of the lights say stop/turn/tail so I don't know if some don't (obvisouly I realize not all LED's are meant for stop/turn/tail but you get my drift). These are made by American Superlight.

So far no one has said anything. In Florida we have some goofy...I mean GOOFY vehicles on the road so I may not have an issue even with the jeep itself being bright blue. Plus no inspections down here (at the moment). I can remember once every so often when I was growing up there were roaming inspections. The cops would set up roadblocks and just check your lights, mirrors and horns. My dad got a ticket for his horn being a dash button instead of the center of the steering wheel (which is where it was sotck on that truck). But I haven't seen one of those here in over 25 years.

I did have a county deputy behind me last night and he just waved as he went around me. Although that was before my rearview mirror decided to commit suicide and landed damn near on my lap...at 55 MPH the it popped off the windshield...wind caught it and then I about went for an unplanned in the ditch jaunt.
