this project started because MPC forced me to try some crazy line and I smashed my qrt pretty bad
    [IMG]
I then scored on CL a set of thick steel corners off a cj7 ,(used to be a mint condition cj7 till the owner forgot to pin his tow bar ........... upon hitting the brakes the bar dropped onto the road and split the frame rails grille, hood and fenders were all destroyed) I picked those up for $40 bucks ,I borrowed a set of alum ones from EricM to get an idea of what needs to be cut.
I pushed back the rear axle 1" so I had to cut the stock tub anyway , the edge was pretty sharp so I welded a 3/8" stock to the edge to give it more strengh and clean it up a little .

getting those steel corners to fit my smashed bashed tub took alot of work (and clamps) even more were added after this pic was taken. I moved the tailgate latches to the new corners to cover more area
    [IMG]
after some peer pressure I moved my blackout lights to a more protected position ( thanks guys ) and I held the corners on with some flush ,chamfored allen head screws

That looks great! I like the black, it gives supportive contrast to the desert tan.

Don't get too attached to the black. My super secret spy cam took the following photo:

I like that a lot! After seeing yours, I gotta get out to the garage and put a rear cage extension on mine, too.

Great work! Love the colors you've chosen. Did you rattle can your entire jeep? What color is it? Desert tan?

Nightstr -it took 8 rattel cans of Rustolium satin -Toupe , I love it ......but not the pink corners

so far the spray paint has been very durable , and not faded to bad but it does sit inside the garage. when not in use .... just sanded it with 150 and shot it on.no wet sand I wanted it to be rough for the paint to bite.
