1964 CJ-5 Shifting question

    Drove the CJ to work today- interesting ride! 1t's a 1964 with the F-4 and the three speed transmission. What I was wondering is- downshifting to first without being completely stopped is not an option without major grindage. So does this model lack sycro-mesh or do I have something that requires attention?

    The T-90 is not synchronized in 1st gear. If you are really good at double-clutching you can get it back down into 1st while still moving but otherwise it'll be grind city.
