That's a great picture of the original dash at the end. Good for restoration reference.

In a different road test of a 232-equipped CJ5 they got upwards of 20mpg.

I believe that the location of that sticker was up to the discretion of the guy that did the new car prep or the tech that dealer installed the optional hubs.
My original was in the upper left hand corner.

Yep. At "my" dealership, they left the sticker in the box that the hubs came in, along with the flanges. It was up to the owner to install it, if they wanted it.

It's interesting to look at the prices for the options. At $53 for the 258, it's no wonder that there are so few 232-equipped CJs out there. The 232 seems to be the choice of fleet buyers, but for $50, it makes a big difference in driveability.

Just FYI - I bought my '73 for $4400, with every option other than the Renegade package, 304/T15/4.27s, and dealer-installed Kayline soft top, roll bar, and manual Warn hubs. For this same price I could have bought a new '73 BMW 2002tii - just to give you a comparison. Inflation ... we had terrible inflation in the '70s. We are lucky to have low inflation now, but even 1-2% a year changes prices a lot over that long a period.
