SO I have had many jeep from 47 to a 2002.. and many in between. I like the older iron. Just something about it!
This one is a little different.. For years I have had people trying to get rid of parts and watching them throw parts away from older jeeps because it is "week"..
SO I started collecting some of these parts..
    I will post pics now..

I picked up the hood and a windshield frame.. I found the tilt column from a 1975 wagoneer. These are just a cheep set of tires and wheels so it is rollable..

I put new sheet metal on the firewall an dthe floor boards!

I always bolted my tailgates shut anyway so I closed this one in!

I remember the lack of leg room in my last flatty so I cut the fender wells for a little leg room!

I used undercoat and bedliner from Duplicolor (Summitracing), under the tub, firewall and inside the tub.. painted the frame and painted the body.. the tub is not perfect!!

That is exactly how my willys started out also, but the budget went away the more it looked like a jeep.:D Mine started out with a free 46 cj2a tub untill someone gave me a 43 willys mb tub in much better shape and my project went the millitary route. what are the plans for the mb grill you have? What motor and drivetrain do you have in mind?

it has been fun.. Research has actually taken more time than actually building it!
My tub isn't that great but its worthy of using untill I find another. That is one of the reasons for the CJ5 frame. I can mount about anything on it..
I was going to use the MB grill untill I found this one complete!
The grill is just hanging in the shed!
    It keeps getting different!
I already had a spicer 18 and a T90J but the tranny was in need of a gear. So I came across a T90 CJ and a spicer 18 with cross member and skid plate for very little money!! along with those parts also came a 198 Buick 1963 V6 oddfire that was in another flatty and runs good..
I have heard all about this being a odd ball and to stay away from it! but that is making me want to use it more and more! Its here and its low cost!

I had to modify them! I was actually looking for a set from a XJ but the cost was too much! I paid ten bucks for these.. I had to cut some off of the length from firewall to dash. and I cut the pedals and rewelded them were I wanted ones it was in. I used 1/4 plate on firewall side.. what I like is the versatility.. The pedals are designed for a threw the floor rod for the clutch or you can convert them to Hydro clutch system and use a 83ish res from a Iron Duke CJ7..
The brake master is plentyfull also!
    Defenately happy with the choice!

Yeah, I couldn't say no to the price I paid for mine too. I figured I was going to have to cut the pedal arms, though I was wondering if maybe I couldn't just bend them around the column and not have to. What did you with the bracket? I cut mine down to size, but it looks like I'm going to have to bolt it through the dash to supprt the front of it.

I did not support the front! I have never had to if you use a piece of 1/4 flat on the inside the firewall.. My pedals are mounted to the left of the column and it works out real good! I just cut and rewelded for the angle of the tub floor!
