Here's the partially complete material list:

    2- 6' x 3" channel - tongue
    2- 7' x 3" channel - frame
    2- 4' 6" x 3" channel - frame
    2- 4' 6" x 2" channel - frame cross members
    10- 3" x 4" channel - side board slots
    2- 7' x 2" x 3/16" flat - sides
    2- 4' 6" x 2" x 3/16" flat - sides
    1- 10" x 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1/4" box tubing - hitch mount
    1- 7 3/8" x 2" channel - hitch support/leg stop
    1- 36" x 1/2" rod - leg hold up
    1- 9" x 1/2" rod - leg hold up
1 - 68" x 2" x 1/4" flat - leg (best thing to do is bend it up first and then cut off scrap I think I started with a 10" piece)
    2- 11" x 40" (I used 14 gauge sheet metal) - fenders
    2- 9" x 30" x 1/8" plate - fender backs
    1- 9" x 1" pipe - leg pivot

I'll have to get the axle pics and dimensions when I bring it home tomorrow.

Reassembled the axle today and I primed it. While priming it, I was thinking that this axle is waaaay to beefy for this little trailer. Well, the frame is too.

I decided to build a spare tire carrier for the trailer. Since the jeep has 15" wheels and this has 16"ers, I didn't want to mix and match them. Plus, it protects someone from bashing their knee into the piece of the leg latch that is sticking out of the left side and there is a cool factor. 8)

I also welded in these tabs for the electrical. Much easier than clamps or zip ties! :)

Hope this isnt rude to ask, but how much do you think you'll have in it when you are done?

I'm thinking around $400. It was $200 for the material. I still have to get the wood, wiring, tires and registration.

It's ready for primer and paint! Put the last finishing touches on it today, the four corner tie downs.

I'm thinking of painting it red with black wheels to match the jeep. What do you guys think?

Today, I cut the farmer special hitch off my drawbar.

After some clean up ( I was surprised that there was primer underneath it), I repainted the area and bolted the factory hitch on. The trailer sits nice and level right now. Must have done something right! I think I'm going to swap out the ball thats' on there now with a chrome one.

I wish I could take it up the road to see how it handles, but this stupid rain/snow/sleet crap had to fall. :(

    looks faaan-tastic!

maybe a black frame, black wheels with red sheetmetal? a good medium stain on the wood. wood bed rails no higher than the tub? should keep with your jeeps color scheme. .02

    nice job

I agree. If you make a cover it could be the same fabric/color as your half cab. Nice job.

    Thanks guys!

I can picture the red frame easier than the black one. It would be kind of hard to paint only the fenders red since they're welded to the frame.

I think I'm going to shoot the whole thing black and then bug bomb the fenders red. Some serious taping will be required! :)

Got all set for primer today. The 64° was really handy. :)

I looks like a desert military trailer right now. The primer is the same tan color and has the same flatness.

And then I put one taillight on. It looks sweet. :D
