GM Bell and Novak Adapter

    Will this setup work for a 4.3 to the T90 in my 1957 cj5? It looks like it is the thicker adapter that Novak offers (#C1 rather than #G9N) which is the right one to help keep the distributor out of the firewall, right? Does it look complete? With some positive feedback, I can do this one. Thanks in advance.

    Honestly the price seems high...I paid 25 or so for the adapter and the shaft I found used for another 20 and the bell was 40...to answer you question it looks like it would work for your application

    Wow, you did get a good deal. Novak's kit #C1 includes "the adapter, 18-tooth input gear, retainer, oil seal, clutch tube spacer and instructions" and they are asking, gulp, $341.12, which is 41 bucks more than I paid for an excellent low mileage 4.3 with a throttle body and all the goodies. I did figure a bell should run $20-40, though. Am I right about the 2-5/8" thick adapter being a better fit than the 3/4" thick adapter?

    Half new price was the rule-of-thumb the Jeep dealer I worked at used for used parts. They were high on everything though. So $100 would be a good deal IMO, and $150 is fair if you really need it. You can pay less if you wait - they don't come along every day, but they aren't scarce either.

    I'd wait until the auction was over and see if it sells. If it does not, make an offer to the seller. Or make an offer now, with your phone number.

    Re the thickness of the adapter, Jeep used a thick adapter and the T90J-length input shaft with the V6. From Novak's description, any GM engine will interfere with the firewall if you use the thin adapter.

    This is the adapter that you want. The seller says it's to a Willys, so it should be for a T-90. It looks to me like it is.

    That set up will work for your T-90 As long as the tooth counts of the input gears match

    I don't see the t-90 lasting I'd use a sm420 or sm465 IMO

    This says adapt to a Buick-Olds-Pontiac trans. I am shooting to use my T90.

    Great advice, fellers. I let the auction go unsold, and will contact him tomorrow. We'll see.
