    has anybody here bought stock replacment springs for the front end. i have the original 10 pack on my 1970,v6. they have flatened out i just want to a stock replacment. thanks bob

    I've purchased stock replacements before. They were good for about 10 years of regular use and then flattened out. I learned the hardway after towing the jeep up to Big Bear and then finding out the front driveshaft wouldn't bolt up without rubbing.

    I've since gone with a 2.5 lift (Explorer Pro-Comp) and springs that have a lifetime warranty. Who knows? The manufacturer may even honor the warranty when it comes time. :D

    I don't think the stock replacements are that much cheaper than the aftermarket lift springs. You could call Bob Supplee (listed in the "where to buy parts" sticky thread) and ask him what he recommends. Pretty sure a 1" or 2" lift spring will be pretty close to the ride height of the factory "heavy duty" suspension.

    i think i'm at the point where i have to do something,the mainleaf has turned down some.i use my jeep on pavement only and i like the stock stance. bob
