I have tried several applications of PB Blaster and am still having a hard time getting the windshield frame off my '73, as I get started on my restoration. The screws are pretty stripped, but not beyond using a good sized flathead screwdriver. I've read a few threads about this, but suggestions would be appreciated. I haven't tried using a butane torch or anything yet.

    I'll 2nd that.
That is the only way I managed to loosen the screws on mine as well.

It was still a struggle though....and a couple of blisters!

Might be different on your 73 but on my 74 you can just lift the windshield frame off the same way you lift the tail gate off by pivoting it forward about 45 degrees until the flat spot on the hinge pin lines up with the keyed opening on the hinge. You might need a helper on the other side because the whole windshield will need to be lifted evenly for this method to work.

Thanks guys, I'll try that. Don't know how I've made it 40 years without ever trying one of those before.

    dakwag, I'll try that too.

yes On intermediates you can just slide the frame off. tilt it forwared 45 degrees or so and pull the frame away from the jeep and it should slide out. I have done it by myself more than a couple times. its a little tricky the first time but way easier then dealing with those factory screws

Thanks guys, it came right off after tilting it forward some. I feel like such a dumski  It was so easy that the wife didn't mind going out to help me on a cold drizzly evening for 5 minutes.
