Joe... That is a sweet setup and a very clean job. There is no reason why I don't do that other than I just want to do something different and keep the under hood area as clear as possible for later "stuff". I like how clean your firewall looks. Is that a home fab?? How does that exhaust wrap work out for you?

Cerial... That area works great for one battery (see the pic posted earlier) but I don't want to put anything right over the "pig" as you call it. Trust me, i wanted to but i am trying to stay away from raising the body since I'm SOA already.

Duffer... Thanks for the electic tips. I'm starting to save these to my favorites for going through later when I get to that point.

Thanks again for all the ideas and thoughts.

    Jim,

Thanks. Yea I fabbed it. Sheetmetal. Supported with bolts through the firewall and a backing plate on the other side.

The header wrap helps keep the floorboards cooler. They are still pretty toasty in hot weather but could be worse.

How about using a better battery??

Using a smaller sized battery will allow more latitude in placement.

And they will not spill acid in any position.

Very popular battery in the homebuilt aviation world, because they are light, powerful, and reliable.
