Just wondering if anyone here is running these on their 5? I'm thinking about picking some up for my AMC 304 V8 in my '74. The engine mounts that are currently on there are the original style and have worn out. Since some of the engine bolts apparently came out without my knowledge (DOH!mehh), the engine side brackets have cracked. So, I'm in need of total replacement of the brackets and I'm unsure which way to go. What do you guys think?

I've thought about these as well. They do look beefy... but kind of expensive. I think the stock ones would hold up to a stock hp motor if everything stayed tight.

I bought the mounts from napa for about $20 or so and after jumping it and beating on it (before I decided I wanted a nice and functional jeep) and they are holding up well. Maybe just try and find a set of used mounts to the block and go from there. The M.O.R.E. mounts do look beefy though. Good luck.

poly mounts are cool but you will notice a definite increase in vibration felt in the chassis... the forst time i started mine after the mount swap is freaked me out... but once you get used to it, no prob..

Well, I just put my order in for them. Hopefully get them the middle of next week and get 'em swapped out. It'll be nice knowing that I won't have to worry about this problem anymore.:D

Well, the mounts are primed and painted ready to be installed tomorrow morning. Hopefully all things go well without any hitches.....then again, it wouldn't be the first time...:D

My buddy put a set of MOREs on his cj7. He has had them on it for about 4 years now and has yet to have a complaint. They are seeming to be bomb proof compared to the OEM mounts which that I-6 goes through like candy. Hope they work good for you.

I got the engine mounts installed on Saturday. However, like everything I seem to take on, it was no easy swap. The mounts lined up with the upper bolts on the frame, but the lower bolts did not. There were about a 1/8" to a 1/4" too low on the frame. No big deal, but it did require me to pull out the drill and fix the problem. I don't know if that's something from M.O.R.E.'s end on the measurements, or it could possibly be the errors from the factory for drilling the motor mounts through the frame. Anyways, they're on there now. Another thing I noticed is that they lifted the engine up about an inch from the factory location. This caused me to have to reconfigure my throttle linkage from the pedal to the carburetor.mehh

But all-in-all I think I made a good choice on the mounts. They feel to have stiffened the frame up and make things tight again. The initial cranking of the engine was apparent through the frame, as you can now feel the engine much more now. However, it's not so bad that it'll drive you nuts (at least not me), but you definitely know it's there. If you're using the Jeep as a daily driver, then these probably aren't for you. However, if you use it for your weekend play toy, then they should be fine. Hopefully these mounts will leave me worry free for a long, long time...

I had the same problem with the mounting holes and had to do some re-drilling.

Whats wrong with the originals they lasted 30 years? They are a captive design so it cant come out of position. You would need some serious power or gear reduction to break them.

When I put the MORE bombproof mounts on my 5 with a 360 it said something about having to drill on some older models. My engine and tranny are rock solid now, this is a great upgrade. I've seen the factory mounts ripped in half more than once.
