I searched this last night a read through 5 pages of posts, but I couldn't find an answer to this question..

I have a '65 CJ5, with no seats:D I found a split bench seat from a '67, I think it's a Tuxedo Park model. I have a 3 spd manual floor shift in my '65 and the donor '67 is a column shift. Will this bench seat work in my Jeep? The brackets on the donor seats appear to be exactly what I need..Will I have to make any modifications to the trans shift lever? Any info would be great.

    Thanks.

Re: Bench seat and manual trasmission question

shouldnt have a problem with the seats fittin properly, or a problem with the shifter. the problem I ran into was the lever for the PTO has a little slack in it and it is a pain the engauge even with the seat adjusted all the way back!

It'll be ok. The main appeal of a bench seat/column shift is to seat three across, or so that your date can slide over. Both those uses will be harder with the floor shift in place.

Not to mention the back seat was useless for "dating".
