I just got these for my 74 CJ5 (p/n22101) and the bolts that came with my shackles, which are the same size as the ones I removed, do not fit in the metal sleeves. Did I order the wrong bushings?

Did you remove the inner metal sleeve from the springs and/or brackets? Those are supposed to come out, and there's some effort involved.

    Yup, cut/hammered them out.
The bushings fit in the shackle mount on the frame and the sleeves fit through the new bushings, but the bolts will not go through the inner metal sleeve of the Energy Suspension bushings.

I had to get new bolts, same kit, same problem.

That's what I was afraid of.

Hmm, I used Energy Suspension bushings just like those and they fit fine with the shackles and bolts I used. I used 4wd Hardware's heavy duty shackles and the bolts that came with them.

I think the sleves dont have the correct ID they measure slightly less than 7/16" which is the size of the shackle bolts which are the same size as the original shackle bolts. Otherwise they fit in the bushing fine.

Can you bore out the sleeves with a drill enough to fit? The bolts should slide through easily but without slop.

Already done. 7/16 drill bit made the bolt slide through but fit nice and tight. I'm pretty sure the sleeves were not made to the correct specs they measured to about 13/32.
