Went and bought some lowback EMPI race trim seats today from Jeep Swag just wondering if anyone else has had them or used them before? I should have them here in a couple weeks

I have a set of Empi low-back bucket seats that I bought from Jeep Swag a few months ago. I like them, although, they are in my CJ-5 project that has not and probably will not move in a very long time. I like to sit in them while I wish I had the time and money to finish what I started.

Did you use their mounting kit or make your own? I was thinking of just picking some up at the local pull a part ...how well do they fit in there ? I'm working on a 66 so it should be the same...

I used the original hardware from my 70 CJ-5. They fit nice. They are wider than stock, so they are closer together leaving you less room between the two seats. My manual transmission's shift lever comes through the floor between the seats. I had to make my own lever and modify the driver's side seat bracket to get it to work. I snap some pictures tomorrow.

Here is the link to my Empi seats and modifications. You might have to weld some tabs on to your brackets to bolt the seats to. The modifications that I had to make to my brackets and gas tank obviously won't apply to you, unless you happen to be running a Super T-10 trans like I am. This should give you an ideal of what your seats will look like after they are installed.
