I recently did a compression test on my F-134 to see where she stands... tell me what y'all think. The condition of the compression tester that I used is questionable BUT I was checking more for uniformity between all cylinders.

When a dry test was performed, all cylinders yielded readings which were approximately 145-150 psi. When a wet test was performed, all cylinders yielded readings which were approximately 155-160 psi. Are these acceptable values for this engine???

I have the service manual and found that the compression should be in the 120-130 psi range. It starts well, doesn't burn any oil, and has never let me down. I'm looking into this as more of a preventative maintenance type of thing.

Also, when driving down steep hills in first gear (not giving any throttle, just using the engine to slow the jeep) the engine will put out blue smoke once I level out and begin driving again. I have good oil pressure when experiencing this... all that I can think of is that the engine is starved for oil when going down the hill and gets hot but once leveled out, it burns the oil... you got me, I have no idea.

Tell me what you guys think. Thank You!

    compression sounds good
intake valve guides are prolly worn causing the blue smoke on decel
if you're using multigrade, next oil change try a straight weight, 30w etc.
otherwise, live with it till it gets worse
    my opinion

Is my compression okay to be that high though?

I plan on taking care of this engine until I have the time and money to completely rebuild it (still in college)... I just want to make sure its still healthy!

I wouldn't ever complain about compression that's too high
