I was looking for threads on gas tank vents. Do any of you still use the vent to the charcoal can then to the air cleaner? Are there any other options? The previous owner just plugged it. I put the correct check vent on the tank to my air cleaner as my charcoal can is leaking charcoal.

I use mine. You can buy a new canister.

The other option is to use a vented gas cap.

You can buy a new canister from Standard, but it won't be exactly like what you have now. The older Jeep canisters do not require a vacuum (purge) connection, and the replacement canisters do. Just use the newer style canister and add a connection to ported vacuum.

Or, you can find a canister at the junkyard. They are a commodity item - the Jeep ones are made by Delco I think. Look around at the yard for one with the connections you need and it will work fine.
