    Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to put the 25 and the 44 back under the frame. A while ago, I got a set of 2.5" superlift springs for it, and never thought twice about the u-bolts that were included in the set. Now I see that they're much bigger than the old bolts and of course wont fit with the old shock mounting plates.

I'd love to use the new, bigger u-bolts, so I was wondering if any place made shock mounting plates that fit the bigger u-bolts, or should I just get a set of replacement stock u-bolts? Thanks guys!

Usually you can drill the u-bolt plates out to accept the larger diameter u-bolts. If that won't work for you I think I have some that have been drilled already so PM me if that's the case. R&P builds custom ones as well and can be contacted at 503-557-8911. Or you could put a wtb in the Classifieds here which is what I'd do before having custom ones built. McRuff also has built some in the past I believe.

Thanks Nick...I'll check on drilling them out. That would be the easiest and cheapest option...though I seem to remember that the width on the plates was too narrow to accept the new ubolts, without slotting the old plates. I'll have to check again.

I had the same issue and I bought the correct U bolts at NAPA, the U bolts act as a vertical support as well as clamping force, the axle can shear the head of the eye bolt off, if it takes a hard hit, the u bolts are the same size as the axle for a reason.
