Does anyone know where I can get a new dashpot for my carb? It's a Carter YF on a stock 232.

Local O'Reillys tells me they're obsolete.

    Thanks.

You don't have to have it on there. I presume you have the bracket and no dashpot? You may be able to find a dashpot at the pick-your-part that will work. Or you can just remove the bracket. The dashpot prevents the throttle from closing too quickly, and in some cases is used to improve emissions and in other cases it is used to prevent stalling. If the engine does not stall when you let off the throttle ...

If you have a Napa store nearby, try there. Or else find an independent store that has their old "Standard Ignition" brand books - they may have a listing, or there may be old stock available, or Standard may supply it.

I have the dashpot, I just think it may be worn out. The Jeep sometimes dies when I let off the throttle quickly and some threads I've read suggest the dashpot may be the problem. I'll try NAPA, I've had luck with them finding stugg no one else had.
