I have tried this bushing and it did not fit. I will see if I can get some measurements off my old bushing.

I have been thinking about installing a DJ-5 Column into this jeep.

The DJ-5 column i have has a bearing in the end of it instead of a bushing.

Will you make a new bushing for me if I get the measurements from this jeep. The one you made did not fit.

I would like to get this jeep back on the road soon but I need this bushing.

    Thanks

I was just at www.Thejeep.com. They show the lower shaft column bearing, part #4486713 for $11.95. Mine is also shot. I'm going to order oneand will let you know how it fits. Phone # is 1-800-the-jeep

I have pm'd Justin twice now with no response, he checks the board so rarely that he won't even check back with the problem and the dimensions on the same day I pm him. I have offered twice to make a new one and still can't get in touch with him to get new dimensions. I used the same dimensions for it that are on the ross box when cutting it off to do a saginaw swap.
Justin if you're out ther please pm back and then check back the same day.

Walter the 76 column is totally different from the pre 76 units and I doubt that the bushing is even remotely close to the early bushings in the postal jeep and the 72-75 columns. These units are listed for the 76-95 model column.

I must apologize The parts number I listed is for the lower shaft column bearing for 76 and up. I check the parts number again before ordering. Guess I got excited about finding one. Thanks for setting me straight and saving $$$. Walt

I do not check the board very often becuase I'm work two jobs and do not get home until 8 or 9 at night. By the time I make something to eat I'm ready to go to bed. Also after working on Computers all day I do not feel like using one at night.

I have PMed MCRUFF with the measurements off my old bushing and he is making me a new one. I do not have the tools to measure the old bushing so I had to find a time I was free and my friend with the right tools was free to help me.

I will let everyone know if it fits right as soon as he gets it to me. I have the jeep apart and ready to install this bushing as soon as I get it.

I recieved this bushing today and it fits really good. I have not finished installing the column yet becuase I need to get some grease before i put everything back together. (I'm going to NAPA tonight before they close)

i will take some pics of the bushing installed in my jeep so you can see what it looks like installed. I will let everyone know how it works once I get the column installed.

    Thanks
