Hi, I am in the process of reverting an aftermarket oil pressure sending unit w/gauge to the original sending unit for the F Head that hooks up to the oil light in the speedometer cluster. I have two questions. Firstly, the thread that the current sending unit is screwed into is smaller than the thread on the stock sending unit that I am replacing it with (see pics below). Does the stock sending unit screw in somewhere else and if so, I take it I'll need to find a plug for this hole? Where would I find one?

Secondly, I'll need a wire for this stock sending unit. Wiring to the cluster is easy, but what about the sending unit? I've read that this end of the wire clamps onto the sending unit, but I have not been able to locate one of these wires. Do they come with replacement clusters? Thanks for the help!

Threads "should" be the same, if your replacement sender is bigger you can get a reducer to adapt it. Threads into the same place where your line come out now, make sure you take the whole thing off, not just the plastic line and outer nut. You will lose some oil out the hole when you remove it, make sure to use a thread sealer on your replacement part.

Thanks, SIDSCJ. I'll have another look at it. I probably misspoke by stating "threads", but you got what I was asking. The threads appear to be the same, but the port in the engine where the sending unit screws in is a smaller diameter than the diameter of the replacement stock sending unit.

I did pull off the plastic line and outer nut, but did not lose any oil, which surprised me. So maybe I did not get everything off as you suspect.

Any of the lower plugs on the side of the block will work eaqually the same, since they are all on the same galley. I ran mine to an unused port. One goes to the filter, one for my gauge, the last one for my oil light.
