I have tried searching this but I just can't find the answer I am looking for.I am tring to find out what spud shaft I need to adapt a 23 spline Dana 300 to a 27 spline Turbo 350 trans. What I have is a 4x4 Turbo 350 that came from the factory with a NP205 T-case behind it and a Dana 300 out of a 81 CJ-7.I am using a factory adapter for a 700R4 trans to a NP208 T-case.I ordered a 27 spline input shaft from JB Conversions and it does not work the splines from the output shaft and the input shaft do not meet inside the adapter its like the trans output is to short. What do I need and where can I get it from?

You need a KIT that has the shaft built to match the adapter depth (length if you will). Everyone builds their's a little different.
Might contact the manufacturers directly. R&P also manufactures the shafts, the transmission must be disassembled to install, to match both the 208 deep adapter and the 203 shallow adapter (at least they did). LOTS of research done by them on this. Contact them at 503-557-8911 or via their web site at

The whole thing is mixing and matching parts without knowing what parts will actually work is a gamble at best. You need to contact the manufacturers of the parts to find out what will work together as what you're trying to do was never a stock application.

I've been involved slightly in this type of conversion and they are all NOT the same from what I've found. It's not a simple matter of finding junkyard parts to make it work. It will require a special output shaft.

Thanks nickmil I called advance adapters and they sold me the spud shaft(the shaft in kit part # 50-6304) I needed to adapt the Turbo 350/ Dana 300.If anyone is attempting the Turbo 350/Dana 300 swap using a 700R4/NP208 adapter (spud shaft part #52-6302)Thanks again for the quick reply.

The shaft from Advance Adapters worked perfect,The big brown truck dropped it off yesterday and I got it installed.
