I am tring to find a complete wiring diagram for a 1981 CJ-7 Laredo.I am attempting to replace teh AMC 360 with a Fuel injected chevy 350,I have the complete engine,Harness, and Computer from a 1987 Chevy Suburban.I want to make this install look factory,I was planning on tring to make all of the computer connections in the factory bulkhead connector to make a clean install.Any help with a wiring diagram would be a big help.

Not a problem, I would say one thing though. If your new engine has the cs130 alternator which you have a 50/50 shot it does, I would not use it.

It will have a small black metal fan on the front and a small plastic cover at the rear on the side. You will also notice a exposed rear bearing on the back, even though it is sealed it is pron to damage from mud and dust. Also the rectifier cooling fins get clogged up and it burns out.

Best bet is a second generation CS144 out of a GM product 94-99 V6 & V8, don’t use the Caddy alternator as the regulator plug is a pain to wire and it may not be compatible with your ECU / cluster wiring.

It should bolt in without much modification, plus its 140 amps stock with great power at an idle, if you go this route send me the GM number on the drive end of the case and I can tell you how to wire the regulator.

    my 2 cents
