Anyone have a source for these parts? I'm a newbie here and I'd be very much appreciative if someone had a source.

Last I looked there was a set for sale in the classifieds here.
Used will be your only option for these as far as I know.

The "Georges" parts are the only source for new AFAIK, and I understand he is making those, or having them made. There's no other source except for from another Jeep. If you look around, you might find a used set at a good deal, depending on whether the seller knows how scarce they are.

Note that these are basically the same for all CJ-5s and CJ-6s from 1955 through 1975. In 1976, the windshields changed, and the hinges are different. You can fit an entire '76-on windshield if you prefer, but be advised that the appearance is slightly different and tops from pre and post 1976 are not interchangeable.

    hth!

Thanks guys. I've found some on ebay. I'm also curious about how the hinge pins come out. Do they come out with elbow grease, hammer and punch?

so the pins turn so that the windshield frame comes off? Also has anyone had any luck with the windshield frames/glass from www.jeepglass.com?

No. The pins are locked in place. They are flat on two sides. The upper hinge has a slot that allows it to pass over the flats and come off. Just like the tailgate hinges. You fold the windshield down approximately half way and lift up and they will slide off. You'll have to unplug your wiper wiring, which will prevent the windshield from coming completely off.

PS. The 76 and newer style hinges do not separate, the windshield does not come off without unbolting the hinges.

thanks guys. I've got myself some hinges. I'm in the process of sand blasting the windshield frame and getting ready to put it back together.

I have a 74 cj5. Were the 76+ cj5 and cj7 windshields the same? I have a top for post 76 cj5, but I need to replace my windshield frame, which is an old willys one. Will the cj7 bolt on like a cj5?

    thanks! and happy new year!
