Is this spruce tip green? It looks shinier then all the other jeeps i see with it but could be just because of age or do you think this is modified with clear or somthing? Also it looked to be metallic is it a metalic from the factory? This is a 66 i beleive . And an unrelated question. With an off white hardtop would you paint the windsheild black or bodycolor or offwhite? Im thinking bodycolor. Thanks :coffee:

That's my favorite look for a jeep. White top and all. It looks like about the same shade I have on mine. While I am a paint job or two beyond orginal, I have tried top keep the original color. The original color code on mine is to a shade called Empire Blue - unless I have misread the color code charts.

im thinking its empire green at this point. I cant find a good pic of one though and its hard to tell from the paint chip samples online. Its gonna be a couple weeks before i need it. Hopefully i can figure it out by then. The spruce tip seems a bit darker and more flat. The empire looks to be more bright and minty like the dauntless engine color :)

It looks the most like willow green but the guy said it was the original color. And its a 53 color. I just didnt ask him what it was!

I originally went with body color on the windshields frame but switched to black I like it much better. Note on the pic the hinges are done in two tone, interesting but I like all black. just my 2 cents.

It's kind of small, but my avatar CJ5 is Spruce Tip green. And black windshield frame gets my vote too! :):coffee:

That jeep in the pics is Empire Blue Poly. Same original color of my 5a. Its a metalic color (or was). Spruce Tip is darker. I would go with the black windshield and hinges.

On a another note, anyone know whos Jeep that is in the pic. Very, very nice.

Thanks for the input guys! And Brad for confirming it :) Glenn do you have a good pic of your jeep so we can see the difference? Like i said iv seen plenty pics of them but they have all been old faded paint jobs. Also is the factory spruce tip metallic? Im still not totally convinced i want to do the windsheild black. I think itll look fine either way. I may just spray it body color and decide if i like it later. Or the other way around. I guess it depends how much some black paint costs. Ill have to dwell upon it some more. Thanks again :)

Here is a bigger pic for you. Yes, factory is metallic.

I waited till the sun was low enough to not reflect and change the color.

Wow they are soo simmilar! It makes you wonder why they offered 2 colors that were so much the same and only offered 12 at that. And youd think turquoise would have been out of style by 67. Not that i know cus im only 23 so i was but a twinkle in my fathers eye back then :) but you get my point

In pictures they do appear quite similar, in person the difference is more noticeable. :coffee: Sprucetip is definitely darker.

I know I’m digging up an old post, but the jeep on the opening post is beautiful. Some of you guys are really good at identifying tire/rim size and lift amount just from a photo. This is the look I’m after for a project. What do you think? Is that a 2” lift? Are those 31’s? 31x10.5? on 7” or 8” rims?

If the owner is on the board, would love to know more info.

    Thanks everyone!
