Thanks to Randy ($sink), I was able to pick this up about 8 miles from my house! Turns out, the guy worked for me a few years ago in the Navy and just sold his '71 CJ, minus this winch. Overall great condition, but will require the "out" solenoid to be changed. Gotta figure out how I want to mount it what with my P/S box brace in the way...

Yeah, I'm pretty jazzed about it... the ONLY thing that's ever kept me from buying one before was (legitimately) justifying to the CFO the cost of a new one. Looking online last night, I saw them priced from $1700 - $2200 new which is amazing. Of course, knowing the guy I got it from made it easier. A couple of weeks ago, Extreme 4x4 did a complete rebuild on one, and it seemed very easy. So, even if I had to rebuild it I would still be about $600 below what the lowest price new I could find online.

Probably the best electric winch ever built, the 8274, imho. One of the fastest line speeds of any electric and one of the best dependability rates. The -50 models were improved with better/stronger motors as well as some other odds and ends of improvements. You'll really like it.
If you want some real bling, try finding one built to Air Force Specs. The clutch/brake stuff was stainless steel.

Makes you wonder what warrants the current new price. Which is about double of all the other Warn winches in the "Premium Line".

And since is is such a sought after winch, howvome we do not see a Chinese made copy being made???
