Order the Fel-pro lower end set, will have all you need. Seal is two piece, but you'll need to replace the 2 dowel plugs along side the main bearing cap so I guess you COULD call it a 4 piece. DON"T cut the dowel plugs shorter, they need to compress and expand as you put the pan back on!!

You should be able to get it at your local parts store. RockAuto shows a rubber Felpro BS3165 for ca $14.

You may be offered a rope seal for this application. I would prefer the rubber seal.

Are the dowels suppose to fit rather loose when you slip them in?

Yes dowels fit a little loose. Also make sure the sealing surface on the crank is smooth and AERA tech bulletin # TB2025 says that the seal surface diameter on the crankshaft must be 2.302 - 2.312 to use the lip seals now available.

This is good information, my extra motor has a leaking rear seal, I changed the pan gasket and it still leaks oil. I am going to pull the pan again and replace the rear seal. Do I have to pull the timing cover, or just the crank pulley, and when I pull the main caps off will the crank come up enough to get the old seal out and the new seal in? Thanks for any help with this. Rick

Should I put RTV in the holes before slipping the dowels in? The dowels seem way to loose to seal very well even after they are compressed by the pan.
    Thanks

Yes a RTV sealant is called for in the pin holes.

Thanks. I'll pretty much fill the holes with RTV and then insert the dowels.
