I'm looking for a wagoneer dana 44 front axle, passenger side drop, ideally flat top knuckles. The vehicle I was going to buy with front and rear axles for $100 sold the morning of the day I was going to go buy it (****ed me off bad, don't get me started). Anyway, I've been scouring craigslist for my areas (within 4-5 hours from where I live) and I can't really find anything. Sometimes look on ebay. Is there some other decent sources for the axle I'm looking for. I can build it up myself, so gear ratio and lockers don't matter. Prefer to not dump a bunch of money into an axle that is "built" but not to my specs just to have me rebuild it. Any ideas? Is there a wagoneer forums website like this website or anything?

    Thanks.

Got any local 4x4 clubs? Almost all have a classified section on their web pages and prices are usually better than the salvage yards.

I live in Bend, Oregon. I haven't even tried the local junkyard. They wanted 1200 bucks for a dana 30 when I needed to replace the one in my wife's rig. I asked if they were aware of the fact I could get a dana 60 kingpin axle for that kinda money and they said they didn't know what to tell me. So I have written off the local junkyard. I may have found a set last night after searching again (looked a little harder at different craigslist areas). They are from a 78 with quadratrac, and I measured the rearend stuff and it should come out okay under the rear of my rig. Just really wanted a 74.5-77 for the flattop front knuckles....

haha, yeah, 1200 for a dana 30, and $240 a piece for used 96 grand cherokee stock aluminum wheels. I also told the guy I could buy new chromed aluminum wheels for less than those, and he said "yeah, but they wouldn't match what you have right now." Wow, that never occurred to me  Gotta love my local auto yard.

A lot of full sized dodge , ford, and chevy trucks had dana 44's. My 88 w-250 has a stout 44 in the front. One of the reasons I bought this truck was that If it turned out to be junk, I could use the 44 , dana 60 rear and 4 speed out of it in a jeep. I was supprised that the rotors were behind the hubs.

Yeah, I know a lot of fullsize rigs had dana 44's in the front of them, but I would need to get it narrowed because fullsized rigs dana 44s are wider than narrowtrac wagoneer 44's, and narrowtrac wagoneer 44''s are wider than widetrac cj axles, so its kind of a specific width range I'm looking at...

Have you tried searching on car-part.com ? You should be able to find what you're looking for gear ratios, flat top knuckles, etc. You can try to search by your region and there maybe a yard you can drive to and check the axle in person. Good luck
