I want these tires!!! I can't find them threw any of the major tire distributors "they suck",or cooper tire site for that matter. However Nabraska Tire seems to bought a LOT of 70 tires. The problem is the shipping to get the tires to Michigan would cost a fortune. Anyone know of a Michigan tire supplier that can order in these tires???

Not sure, but this week i'm getting new tires as well.

I really wanted the L78-15LT Original TSL as they would have been the perfect size, but they are special order only, so i'm going with the slightly smaller tire and dealing with it.

I think they give a little retro look while still providing great offroad traction since this is certainly not a daily driver. I just need to be diligent in taking the Jeep out of the garage a little more often to keep them from flat spotting too bad.

I have these tires on my jeep now and if you drive it all the time i wouldnt reccommend them.As soon as i get the extra cash im going to put them on my stock rims which i dont use and buy some all terrains or mud tired for rims on my jeep.
They are not very good at all off road and they are terrible on wet pavement plus the ride is horrible. They to look good on the jeep but to me the cons outway the pros big time.

:iagree: Don't like the tread design. Center row of lugs I think are the problem. If we are talking about the swampers.

I had them on my '62. I don't recall having such an unfavorable impression of them. I don't recall thinking they were the greatest tire ever either though. I reserve that for Thornbirds. ;)

Thanks for the feedback on the coopers, I'm looking at the second image that Sparky shows. I'm going for the stock but somewhat aggressive tread look plus the price is right at $70 each. I've run 34" swappers before, awesome in the mud, but not so pratical for daily use!!!! So......does anyone know of a supplier of these tires in Michigan?????

    Thanks J

Oh ya check out these Interco Bias tires at Nebraskatire.com hot deal.....????
I've never seen them before, does anyone have any INFO on them???

If you drive it daily on the street, I'd put radials on it. Just my opinion..

Those look just like the Goodyear Supercushions that Betsy was wearing when I got her. :D

I'd swear they were original equipment from '65. Do they need a tube? R)

Ah, thats right the coopers do look close to the orginal Goodyears!!! I too have an set of Goodyear Suburbanities however the sidewalls are weather checked!!! So I'm looking for a tire that resembles the orginals.

There has to be other tire makers out there that still have the cool old tread styles.

I second that on the SS Truxus MT..Awesome tire. Quiet on the road, lots of siping, balanced well on my old Chevy with 6" stock rims and are a big step above a "all terrain" tire off road. I would have these on my '65 now if I hadn't found my current set of TSL's for 300.00 on Craigslist. I don't have anything bad to say about the Cooper's because I have never run them, but based on price and quality I have to recommend the Truxus MT's if your Jeep is dual purpose.
