They are wider than your axles; about 1/2 the tire will be past the fender.

Only practical if you can weld. The front springs must be outboarded, and the rear pads moved.

    6 on 5.5" (6 lug)

    Yes, wider. Yes, disks.

To my knowledge, the 80's grand wagoneer's have a driver side front differential, and I'm assuming you still have the passenger side front differential, so that would not work. In '88, I would sure think it has disc brakes on the front, though. Also, the wagoneer axles are wider than the narrowtrac CJ axles, and I believe they are even a bit wider than the wide trac CJ axles, and that is just for Wagoneers. To my knowledge, the GrandWagoneers have axles that are even wider still. So, they would be very wide under your rig. Anything can be made to work, but I'm assuming you are looking for a general bolt-in type deal. If that's the case, these axles sure aren't it. Sorry man.

If that carb would match up that wouldn't be a bad deal as well...

    Yes, driver's side drop.

Front disks were standard on Wagoneers from 1974 on.

Should be 6 lug and a ton wider.

They will for sure not bolt up.
The front may even be a drivers side drop 3rd member.

I run a j3000 HD 44 in the front of my 73 cj5 and I had to outboard the front springs to get it to work.

It was a pass side drop like my Cj had. Sometime later I think all the fullsize jeeps went to a driver side drop. But I forget when that was.

NB you'll need to weld outboard mounts on the front frame to use a Wagoneer front axle. You'll also need to weld on new perches for the rear.

You need to decide whether you must stay with 5-lug wheels or if you can switch to 6-lug. If 6-lug is ok, any Wagoneer or NT Cherokee from '74 to '79 will work. Front and rear will be D44, and the front will be open with disks. Realize that Wagoneer axles will not have the deep gearing we expect on CJ axles; likely they will have 3.07s or the optional 3.54s.

If you want 5 lugs, then get a rear axle from an earlier Wagoneer, say '69ish through '73. This will be a 5-lug flanged Dana 44. For the front, use a '74-79 Wagoneer or NT Cherokee axle and switch to Ford 5-lug hubs.
