    selling soon
    whats it worth?
I have done a lot of work to it, and now like so many projects it will be sold
( I dont post on here much but i have lurked way more than necessary) I'll most likely post it on here but I am trying to sell it locally so once i hear from a few of you folks it gets thrown by the road and in the auto swapper. I live in Ovid, MI. the transmission hasnt seen the plow yet, I figured i'd try to sell it before the snow flies.

    68 kaiser jeep
    225 :v6:, t86, dana 18
    rear offset 44
front dana 30 with the big brakes
    29"thornbirds w/full size spare
    soft top
    western plow

in the last six months (less than 300 miles, i drove it up north for two tracking and back)

    • new brakelines wheel cylinders master cylinder with herms dual circuit upgrade
    • the shoes were about a year old.
    • saginaw conversion from a lot of posts on here
    • new fuel lines, cleaned tank, new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor
    • new headers, glasspacks and turnouts (the 4wd kit) have a spare set of
2" collectors for regular mufflers, which i think would be better, but i'm not going to do it)
    • new clutch preassure plate and throwout bearing
    • rebuilt transmission by herm, I rebuilt the transfer case via herms kit omitted the parking brake, but i have the parts that were on it when i got the jeep.
    • engine was re gasketed, all except the head gaskets, repainted and re-installed
    • Hei conversion (still need the coil cover, but has new wires distributor, cap rotor and coil)
    • oil bath air cleaner
    • optima red top
    • mini after market guages
    • the drivers seat is a plastic racing bucket so i coul fit. i have the nice vinyl low back that came with it, but i couldnt fit my legs between the wheel and the ultra cushy seat
    • the body has been extensivley repaired as the pics will show
    • taillights recessed into the body
    • rear swingout with offset spare carierw/third brakelight and place for jerry can
    • western plow, non power angle, it's old and i assume to be vintage
    • towbar and heavy duty front bumper to match the rear

for me to consider it finished as far as I am concerned it wil need a coil cap, that little heater bypass hose replaced down by the thermostat, put the fender back on...tighten up the top and fix the zipper on the drivers side door.

I am sure I am missing a few extra new stuff

and i do have a pile of parts, like the heater unit, which i left out because it was bypassed, so i assumed that it it leaked, original manifolds, some steering parts, a centered d44...(i was going to swap in a d20 on of these days

this afternoon i go to get the bolts to finish bolting on the plow carriage and some for sale signs...sigh

thanks for the help (and to all those folks i have messaged over the past few years)

    thank you, I saw that

and the link to mighty mo's,

thats why i posted the year, condition, modifications, and short of actually labeling it a restomod and listing the vin numbers i felt that I have complied whith the locked sticky. the only thing i think i neglected to mention is a clean and clear michigan title in my name ready to go

based on Ric Meagley's page i would be inclined to ask 5-10k. if someone wants it for that it's theirs. this one will most likely go for less. and this afternoon i tightened the top buttoned up a few things and bought a coil cover.

    I was asking for help

Is there anyone else here that might help?

I expect Erik posted the link rather than answering directly was because it's very hard to set a price on these. Lots goes into the calculation. Condition, completeness, accessories, area of the country, how long you are willing to wait for a buyer... lots of issues.

You have a tube fender for the left side?

IMO $5000 is a possible (grossly inflated) insurance estimate, and $10000 is a fantasy.

If it were me looking at this, I'd think the following positives - it's probably in good mechanical condition, it has Saginaw steering, it has upgraded brakes and a Dana 30 front axle. I'd wonder what axle gears it is, and guess that it's 3.83s with a D30 from a 3.83 intermediate. Looks like a Cross Enterprises bumper and tire carrier - nice.

I'm not in the market for one of these, so I'd only make an offer if I thought I could steal it. I don't care about the plow and lots of things would put me off, like the tube fenders and the camo paint job. The loud exhaust would have to go. Just a matter of taste.

Realistically, with its appearance and patched-up body, I'd guess you should be happy if you can get more than $2000. Also, a lot of people are out of work now, and there should be plenty of inexpensive hobby cars on the market. Not a great time to sell a used car like this. If you want to sell it fast, likely less than that. The plow and frame probably adds $500 in value, but you might be better off to sell that separately.

Sorry if you were expecting more.

thanks timgr, actually I made the bumpers. I was doing it quite frequently for wheeling buddies till the steel market went through the roof.

I also am not a fan of the loud exhaust, but I am done spending money. The other fender got bolted on this afternoon, the tube fenders are on there due to the original ones rusting off as evidenced by the former condition of the body. 3:73 gears. it's either a factory posi or mini locker in the rear. I am not sure which

I know it's a crappy time to sell, I will probably be leaving the state for good this spring, figured i'd just take care of one loose end before I had to.

It's always sad to leave your rig behind and move. Having to sell is not usually the original intention of buying a project because you put in a lot more than you will ever get out of it. They are a labor of love and you can't put a price tag on that. Good luck..
