I have a F head engine in a CJ 5 and I was thinking of selling it or tradeing it for a V6.
Can anyone give me an aprox. fair selling price range?
It is still in my jeep( runs great) and can be test driven.
    Serial number :4FR182681
Here is what I found out from a recient question I posted on the G503:

" It is a very early F134 most likely from a Willys Pickup about 1952/3.
As posted above the 4FRXXXXXX engine is a generic factory new replacement F134. "
    Thankyou for your time...Tom

It really comes down to what a persons willing to pay....I sold my good running f-head to a member of the boards here for $200 if I remember correctly.....I would think between $200-$500 would be a workable range...IMHO

my F-head I am building I was trying to sell last year bout this time. 8,000 miles on a rebuild. Clean as can be. I wanted $800, guy offered me $750. I said sold, but the guy never came and got it or even sent me any money.

I am picking up 2 f-heads for dirt cheap (how expensive is dirt now?) next month. Not sure if I am going to sell them or rebuild them? Interested in how much you sell yours for.

Yep, good ones aren't that plentiful, but neither are buyers. If you want good money, I think you'll have to wait a while, or get lucky, to find a buyer.

A couple of datapoints for you.
I had a free spinning F-Head that I sold about 18 months ago for $125. My assumption was that it would need a rebuild. It was a loose engine that I never saw running, but it did turn over with a wrench on the crank.

I purchased a running L-Head that smoked a little from a guy for $75 up in Philadelphia.

I purchased (2) Supersonic L-Heads from a guy in Virginia. One is frozen, the other just had a rebuild completed. It is now in my 2A. Paid $250 for the pair.

I picked up an F-head from a 70 CJ5 last year for 200.00.Runs excellent!! And he threw in a rebuildable F-head for free.

I saw your add on WT.I was gonna email ya,but I don't know why I need another one.Cept I have a 225 laying here. But I had a guy up in your neck of the woods wanting one.If I hear from him again,I will send him your way.
